Greetings from
Capital of Orissa - Bhubaneswar, the Temple city of India.
We are very much
thankful to you all giving us the opportunity this time after a gap
of 23 yrs to host the 54th Annual Conference of Indian Orthopaedic
Association IOACON-2009 from 24th to 29th November-2009 at
Bhubaneswar. It is our great pleasure to invite you in the month of
November, the time of the year where you can experience the rich
cultural heritage of Orissa, the extraordinary saga of culture,
passion, perfection unveils to redefine the supreme skill in art &
architecture, mystique, heritage enigma, many more… and to
recapitulate the history of its own identity - a rich cultural
tapestry - indeed one of the subcontinent's oldest classical dance
forms, Odissi. Bhubaneswar, the Capital city is fast becoming
a cosmopolitan hub of info city, with its modern buildings and
extensive infrastructure perfectly complements its historic
surroundings. It is well connected by Air (The Biju Patnaik Air
Port) and Rail route to all destinations in India.
KIIT University
Campus is the venue for IOACON - 2009. Elegantly manicured green
lawns and charming gardens spread over sprawling spaces surround the
institute of educational wonder, The Air-conditioned Auditoriums,
lecture theatres well equipped with modern amenities close to the
sophisticated Kalinga Institute of Medical Science, the Library,
Bank, Post Office, sports grounds, multi-gym indoor stadium, welfare
services and supermarket, besides parking space and open lounges
covering an area of over 1,100 sq.km. will ideally suit to our
scientific deliberations, Trade exhibition and entertainment
programmes.
Our constant endeavour
will be to make the conference a memorable one with eminent
orthopaedicians of National & International repute interacting in
scientific deliberations with their knowledge, skill and vast
experience in main conference, Pre conference workshops and CME
programmes, focusing on awareness of common orthopedic problems and
their prevention for the mass benefit as well as the advances made
in recent year’s world wide, besides a galaxy of entertainment
programmes and tours to the picturesque land of Orissa.
Nandan Kanan,
one of Asia's largest Biological Park is famous for it’s white
Tigers. Buddhist Stupa - the peace Pagoda at Dhauli, Jain temples in
Khandagiri & Udaigiri, inspires feelings of wonder at their sheer
beauty and their cross cultural permutations. Konark, the
magnificent Sun Temple, one of the most stunning monuments of
religious architecture in the world where the language of stone
surpasses the language of man. Puri. Possesses plenty of Sun
and sand is one of the four celebrated religious centers of India;
abode of Lord Jagannath needs no introduction. The unspoilt Sunny
beach at Puri is one of the finest in the world. Chilika, the
largest brackish water lake in Asia, aflutter with thousands of
indigenous and migratory birds even from the distant Siberia.
